"I am a bully. I am tough. I’m getting older and someone may be alpha over me and I don’t want them to treat me like I treat them. I like being alpha because I like being the best at something. I don't think I was socialized when I was little, because of that most of the other horses won’t talk to me."

Party Time is a polo pony. She says, "I buck when people mount me, because I think that I am going to get stabbed by spurs on both sides."Her person does not wear spurs. This could be a result of old trauma. Read on to hear more about my session with Party Time.

Harley is the only dog that Tasha gets along with. Harley is younger. I asked him why he barks at other dogs and he said, "Sometimes, I listen to Tasha when I should be listening to myself. Do you think I am bright enough?"

"I don't want to be friends with other dogs. My behavior scares me. It is like I see with different eyes."

"I am going to try to bite my mom (person) more softly when she is stroking a spot that hurts on my body."

Emi says,"I growl at other dogs because I cannot read them anymore. My eyes are blurry and sometimes, especially after my morning medicine, my reaction time is slower. I feel safer if the dogs stay away from me. They don’t understand what is wrong with me. One dog tried to attack me because I scared them with my smell...

Max says, "Tell mom I am sorry. I wish she would touch me softly. Biting it is the only way to get my point across to tell her to watch my pain level on my body. I guess I can try to hiss. If I bite again, I will try not to bite so hard. I didn’t like how it hurt my mom so bad. When she would look in the mirror she was so sad and I was so sad too. I don’t ever want my mom to look in the mirror and be upset with me again. It is a terrible feeling. I like it when she sees me in the mirror and tells me how handsome I am."

Gita would bark and lunge at other dogs. She would look very vicious. One day, she graduated to being off leash at the beach. Although she was a bit scared, she played with numerous dogs. After our session, I asked her why she was dog aggressive before. This was her reply, "I didn't know that other dogs would want to play with me. I thought they were going to be mean, so I would try to scare them away."
